At Sustainable Spaces we are strong believers in renewable sources of energy.

We run our fleet of vehicles off of 100% renewable recycled Vegetable oil and Biodiesel. Both of these fuels are 100% renewable and qualify as low emissions fuels in California.

Biodiesel produces over 85% less pollution, as compared with petroleum-0based diesel. In addition, it can be produced locally by recycling waste grease that is available in almost every restaurant. The only by-product is soap, or by its chemical name, glycerin.

We are huge proponents of renewable energy. However, we feel that it is wise to first reduce and conserve, and then make up the remainder with Solar or other technologies.

Solar Power

Solar power, also known as photovoltaics, can actually cost you less to have on your home than what you are already paying to PG&E.

Our systems are designed taking advantage of Net-Metering, which gives one the ability to actually produce more energy then you use, and give it back to PG&E for a credit. You can have NO BILL with PG&E at all.

There are no batteries or any equipment that requires any maintenance. In fact, you will never even be aware that your home is running on solar. Whether day or night, you will never see any changes in your daily life, and with a 25-year warranty, you can have peace of mind.

Sustainable Spaces approaches solar as a second step in our Performance Improvement solution. We first make your home more efficient and reduce your consumption, then design a system that is the right size for your new lower energy use. You will find that it is many times more cost effective to pursue energy efficiency before installing solar.

In order to lock in current government incentives that will pay for almost half of the cost for installing solar on your home, we can work with you to secure a reservation today, and simply adjust the size to reflect your reduced usage in the future. There is approximately a 6 month wait before your systems panels are built and arrive for install, which gives us plenty of data exactly size the system.


Wind Power

While wind power is typically not feasible in urban environments, it is a very reliable and powerful source of renewable energy and is extremely cost effective on a large scales. In fact, this website is currently being powered through Wind Energy green tags.
