Home Performance with Energy Star

Sustainable Spaces is part of the Home Performance with Energy Star program administered by the EPA. We are able to participate in this program after completing a rigorous training program run by the California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA).

The CBPCA program is the first in the Western United States to be recognized as fulfilling the requirements of the new “building Performance with Energy Star” process for upgrading existing homes.

Lena Nirk, director of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Home Improvement program, said "This whole-house retrofit program aligns well with the concept behind Home Performance with Energy Star…The program will be promoting the use of practices which align with current building science, including the use of appropriate diagnostic tools and combustion safety testing. The quality assurance mechanisms…provide a reasonable basis to believe that the interests of consumers will be protected. Further, they offer a good degree of protection for the integrity of the Energy Star logo. With this in mind, I would like to encourage (the) use of Home Performance with Energy Star in conjunction with (the California Home Performance Program)."
